About
My name is Katrina Saffarek and I run a small flower farm in south western New Brunswick.
The farm is tucked along side the Saint John river, creating an idyllic environment for my husband, Grant, and myself to raise our four children. We have cultivated just over 1/2 an acre of our 20 acre farm into a haven for wildlife, cut flowers, and our market garlic.
I grew up on a small hobby farm surrounded by a family who loved to garden. This instilled a deep desire to create a garden retreat and be able to share that with others. Out of this love for growing things and a passion to share them with others, B Rosey & Co was born.
Sustainability
Every effort is made to use best practices in the garden. For B Rosey & Co, this includes low to no-till on the beds, no pesticides, and attention to the life-line of the plants, the soil. A garden needs to be built from the ground up, literally. When the soil is healthy, the plants will be too.
What About The Pollinators?
Our garden is not only a place where beautiful flowers grow, but those flowers are a part of an important ecosystem. A place where a diverse range of pollinators can have a place to find food, shelter, and reproduce. Each part of the garden plays an important role in their lifecycle, from the pond, to host plants where they can lay their eggs, to the nectar rich flowers they can feed on.
